For
the last 3 days, we have been all around the town getting to know the area of
Alkmaar and towns nearby. I love the houses and buildings here because they
look so little and so close to each other compared to the United States. The designs
of the houses are alike but different types of form and material. They look
amazing! Also, they have some kind of grass on the roof that helps for
insulation. It feels like I am living in a fairytale movie. Everything is so
different. The people are so tall, the houses are so small, and everyone drives
in small cars or on bicycles. I admire the life style that they have. They seem
really healthy and energetic. They even ride their bicycles in really cold
mornings. I think that it’s great, we should definitely do that in Maine.
The
people are super nice, and I can say that I hadn’t seen so many white people in
one place. We went to a museum on Sunday, and it was so fun. I love the wooden
shoes and the place where they made cheese of different kinds. I also noticed,
that everything in the store is so healthy, they don’t even have a gallon of
milk everything is smaller. They don’t use plastic bags. They are all really
GREEN. They have a lot land for cows, horses, and sheep. It looks like they
care about animals a lot. I love to see more of if but I don’t think we will be
able to do it in one week. I would love to come in the future with my family. I
have a lot of things to show them and to tell them about this wonderful place.
